Here is a list of all the playable species of insects and bugs you may use. Just because a species is not up here, does not mean you cannot use it. You are more than more than welcome (yes I meant that) to suggest other species to be playable as characters, in this forum. Besides, it's not like I can do every species at once. By the way, I will not make Spiders available as playable species. All playable species are to be personificated, and non playable ones are normal.

Ants: One of the main and biggest races. Ants make their kingdoms underground, however, they have been known for farming, though, most of their food comes from hunting or scavenging. They are known to be extremely strong, and all work as a team. Not one single ant will not have a job. There may be workers, guards, nurses, scouts, hunters, cooks, managers, builders, whatever. They are all under the rule of one queen. Most ants are females, about 70%, the other 30% being males. They are currently at war with Bees, and have an alliance with Termites.

Bees: The other biggest colonial races. Bees have the ability to fly, and make their homes in the large trees. They travel long distances to collect their food. Bees are known to be more inventive, and are always creating new ways of helping the colony, whether it be more effective ways of protecting themselves, or simply making better honey. They are known to be better with strategy, and have been known to be aggressive fighters, with much stamina, but are louder and easier to spot. They are currently at war with Ants, and are having relationship issues with wasps.

Wasps: They have been known to be as inventive as bees, but they are more selfish, and do not know how to make anything. They'll eat whatever is edible, and they will make due with what they have, They are very resourceful, making use of any type of resource, like using small spaces for shelter and mud to build with. They are losing trust of the Bees. They too, can fly.

Termites: They are very similar to Ants, however, they aren't farmers or scavengers like ants. They are miners. They are very aggressive, and will dig into anything they can find. They'll also use mud, in the same fashion that wasps do, to build.

Flies: Independent creatures that will eat whatever they can steal. They are known to be thieves, but are otherwise almost harmless. They'll live where nobody else dares to, if it's safe enough, and are known to be extremely fast. Not to mention they fly.

Mosquitoes: Rogues, often living near water, who take a fine career in fighting monsters. Though, one's yet to ever slay one. They enjoy cooler temperatures.

Fireflies: Another independent nocturnal creature. These bugs are quite mysterious, though, nobody really cares about what they do. The do fly around, but they are also known for being able to glow.

Butterflies: Beautiful and timid creatures, who look like fairies. Like bees, they'll hang around flowers, and just sort of mind their own business. However, they are a big target for many monsters. And they are able to fly, though, not that fast. Also, they go south when it starts to get cold.

Moths: They are similar to butterflies, only, they are more nocturnal, and are somehow attracted to light, for it throws them off. Otherwise, they are known for being excellent navigators, their kind having developed a type of mapping system involving the stars, and have very good memory of the land. One, when traveling, would like one on their side.

And will be excepting more...

(AP) ? Stock futures were mixed Wednesday, a day after the U.S. earnings season kicked off.

Dow Jones industrial futures slipped 21 points to 13,391. The broader S&P futures fell 0.30 points to 1,435.70. Nasdaq futures tacked on 2 points to 2,736.

Stocks are under pressure due to a forecast from the International Monetary Fund on Tuesday, which said that the global economy continues to weaken and that the recession in Europe could extend to developing nations.

Shares of Alcoa are lower Wednesday after the aluminum maker cut its demand expectations for the year, largely because of a slowdown in China.

At 10 a.m. Eastern, economists expect the Commerce Department to report that U.S. wholesale businesses appear to be more optimistic that sales will turn around.

Is the next Nexus phone the LG-E960?

LG E960

A tasty surprise just hit our inbox, and we like what we're seeing. A black slab built on what looks very similar to the LG Optimus G's body, running stock Android.

According to these pictures, the device has the board name Mako, which jives with previous Nexus device internal names as they have all carried a fish theme. The version number is Android 4.1.2, running on the Linux 3.4 kernel. The device is running stock Android as we can see from the home screen, and visually what we can see is identical to the current Jelly Bean build we have now.

Outside there are some slight differences between this mystery phone and the Optimus G we looked at in Korea, namely the position of the camera mount and flash. This leads us to believe there is a different board inside. We also noticed that the LG E960 made it through the FCC with AT&T bands in tow. A little further digging and we see that this phone has been kicking around since late last month, so we're pretty confident that this is the phone everyone is talking about.

But it this the next Nexus? We've all heard rumors of an LG Nexus device, and from some very credible sources. For now, let's all look at the pictures (there's more after the break) and discuss.

Update: Our tipster also posted these pictures publicly at XDA and failed to mention it to us, here's a link to that source.

CNN starting film unit

(AP) ? CNN says it is starting a new unit to make feature-length documentaries to show both on television and in movies theaters.

Its first project, "Girl Rising," tells the story of several girls fighting tough odds to achieve their dreams. It features voiceovers by Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Kerry Washington and Selena Gomez. Richard Robbins, who made the wartime documentary "Operation Homecoming," will direct it.

CNN said Monday that "Girl Rising" will premiere next spring.

The network, which is searching for ideas to turn around flagging ratings, said the films will air several times on CNN and be accompanied by on-air discussions.

Study: Many Parents Think Drinking Improves Their Parenting ...

WASHINGTON (CBDC) ? Drinking alcohol is helping some to be better parents.

A survey by the U.K. charity ? 4Children ? highlights a ?silent epidemic? in which nearly 700,000 children live with a dependent drinker, and just under a quarter of parents continued to drink as much alcohol as before their baby?s birth and that 17 percent actually increased their consumption.

In a new report released Monday, ?Over the Limit: The Truth about Families and Alcohol,? the national charity 4Children warns that alcohol misuse by British families is alarmingly common. The report warns that too many parents remain oblivious to the negative effects that alcohol can have on their parenting. Of parents who drink on a weekly basis, 9 percent of parents thought their family benefitted financially from their drinking.

?This report demands that we think again about our relationship with alcohol for our families? sake,? 4Children CEO Anne Longfield wrote in the study. ?The statistics speak for themselves with consumption of alcohol known to be a major factor in family crisis ? from domestic abuse and family conflict to a breakdown in family relationships and the ability to parent.?

The statistics pointed to domestic abuse as a by-product of the alcohol consumption.

Sixty-two percent of children who were subject to care proceedings were from families with parental alcohol misuse. And more than a third of all domestic violence cases involved alcohol.

Only 9 percent of parents recognized that there was a negative impact of drinking or drug use on their family life. Nineteen percent said that their drinking impacted ?positively? on their children. In matters of general health, 29 percent of mothers and 30 percent of their partners drink more than the recommended units per week.

?Addiction and the subsequent breakdown in many families is the end of a story that often starts with so called ?normal? use,? Longfield wrote in the study. ?With proper warnings to parents and better awareness of the impact that alcohol can have, we can avoid the crises that addiction can cause.?

The charity recommends that there is a supplement to existing ?danger warnings? for pregnant women on alcohol packaging with additional labeling warning of the potential impacts of drinking on children.

The charity is also calling on the U.K. alcohol industry, estimated to be worth $7.79 billion annually, to invest 1 percent of its value into help for families to prevent alcohol dependency and family crises.

Admirals Bank raises Residential PV loans to $40,000 | Focused ...

Admirals Bank, with whom Focused Energy partnered for residential PV system financing earlier in 2012, has announced a higher project cap starting in September. In addition to the $25,000 available through the bank?s existing program, $15,000 more can be borrowed for solar and efficiency projects. While structured as separate loans, the two are serviced with a single payment.

Also, Admirals unveiled a new ?no payments for 12 months? option to enhance its existing Solar Step-Down Program, in which the loan can be re-amortized once in the first two years after the homeowner takes advantage of Federal and State tax credits and other incentives, reducing the monthly payment and increasing the cash flow generated by the PV system.

Financing has become prevalent in deployment of residential PV projects. Often, leases and power purchase agreements are used as vehicles. However, borrowing funds instead provides homeowners with all the benefits of ownership, providing better cash flow over the life of the PV system and avoiding the end-of-lease terms that can significantly undermine any financial benefit: leased systems can be removed, re-leased, or purchased at fair market value, which will likely be a minimum of 20% of initial value even in 20 years. All three of these options entail substantial (and un-quantified) cost to the homeowner.

Furthermore, the solar leasing industry is under scrutiny for possibly inflating the initial value of the leased system to maximize the value of Federal tax credits and depreciation internalized by the leasing company or its investors. ?A PV system loan, in the form of HELOC, PACE financing, or through a program such as Admirals?, also increases property value and salability of a home.

Selling Your Home with Words: Writing A Real Estate Ad | DIY Home ...

Three very different men taught me about advertising and selling.

The first was Joe McKertich.

He owned an advertising agency and hired me when I was fresh out of college. It was way back in 1964, so think Peggy Olson. But instead of Don Draper, Joe was a paunchy, balding teetotaler who worked long days and expected me to do the same.

But he was an excellent teacher.

From Joe I learned the importance of mistake-free printed matter.

Part of my job was to make sure every word in the catalogs and ads we produced was spelled correctly, spacing was consistent, and every number was correct. Tedious!

Guy Number Two?

My next copywriting teacher was Paul Hawken.

I knew Paul when he was president of Erewhon Natural Foods in Boston in 1970, before he went to California with another friend, Ty Smith, and started the company called Smith and Hawken. These guys revolutionized American gardening with their mail order catalog, originally written entirely by Paul, a really savvy entrepreneur.

The Smith and Hawken catalog pre-dated and was more genuine that the J. Peterman catalog that premiered a few years later. Paul's?catalogs transported you to a dreamy world where you tended your heirloom flowers growing in glazed pots, using your hand-crafted tools and wearing your French farmers hat. Up until that time, gardening was a hobby for penny-pinching oldsters and unwashed hippies.

Paul's catalogs made gardening stylish, classy, hip, fun.?His company was grossing $50 million annually by the early 1990's. He cashed out, and after a number of post-Hawken owners, it was bought by Scotts the chemical gardening people, who ran the company into the ground. But that's another story.

Selling Yachts

The third person who taught me about selling was Kevin Bush.

Kevin was the owner of a yacht brokerage company where I worked as a yacht broker eight years ago. The most important thing Kevin taught me was to ignore the negatives. If a client touring a boat wondered aloud why some cushions were missing, or remarked that the galley was small, the best response was no response. Any comment from me would reinforce the fact that the boat had liabilities.

At first I thought Kevin was hard of hearing, but I came to realize that his selling technique was a practiced ?one, and an effective one.

Advertising and Real Estate

Are you wondering what these men in my life have to do with selling your home?

Let's say you have fabulous curb appeal. You've decluttered and cleaned every square inch. You've staged your rooms beautifully. Your property is well-maintained, and priced right.

But unless buyers know about your home, you're sunk. Whether you list with a licensed real estate agency, or decide to sell your home FSBO, advertising is essential if you want buyers to come and see for themselves. Advertising is what drives almost every American business.

And if you are selling your home, you are in a business.

You may think that an MLS listing is all formula, but just like a Facebook page or a LinkedIn profile, there's plenty you can do to make your listing more interesting. You can turn it into a strong selling tool instead of just a list of specifications.

Of course, photos of your home are what catch buyers' attention. Today, I'm concentrating on just the words you use to sell your home, because that's what buyers look at next.

Be Correct

Work with your realtor to make sure your specs are correct in your listing. Your online data and your printed material need to be accurate.

Is the square footage right? The age of the home? The types of flooring? The number of baths, the size of the garage, the school district. Humans make mistakes, and realtors are human. Double check the info because this is how buyers judge your home before they decide whether to visit it.

Don't get sloppy about grammar, punctuation, consistency of style and spelling. Your advertising should look professional. By showing respect for your potential buyer in this way, you earn respect from your potential buyer.?

That's the way Joe would have wanted it. (May he rest in peace.)

Be Specific

When Paul Hawken wrote about a shovel, he didn't tell you that it had a wooden handle. He told you it had a kiln dried ash handle from trees grown in Sweden specifically for shovel handles, and that it was attached using a method that had been perfected over the centuries by farmers.

If your home has a new heating system, give the date, the manufacturer, and the capacity. If you installed new carpeting, specify Dupont Stainmaster or whatever. If your home is near restaurants and shops, name the big businesses and the number of restaurants.

And this is important: Even if the brand name and the measurements aren't actually impressive or top of the line, the fact that you are citing them indicates transparency and even pride. Advertising is bragging. But you can't brag unless you're specific.

Photos are a subtle way of bragging. The tantalizing photos in a Smith and Hawken catalog did their job of seducing mail order customers. Taking great photos of your home on the market is very important, and a subject for another post.

Being specific is one way to interest buyers in your property without reverting to annoying "fluff" phrases such as, "Just bring your rocking chairs and enjoy the view." A smarter way to merchandise your porch would be with specifics: "Enjoy a 4-season view from the 12 x 40-foot front porch."

Be Positive?

My boating boss Kevin knew that every boat had some things that a buyer didn't love. Your house will have some things that a buyer wishes he could change. Focus on the best qualities, and you'll encourage him to do the same.

If you are FSBO and showing your home, never call attention to unfinished projects, problem areas, or any shortcomings. Showcase what you love about your home.

If you have a realtor, make sure she knows exactly what's special and unique about your property -- that the fireplace works, that the utilities are very low, that the windows are extra thick, that the roof is brand new...all that nitty gritty stuff.

These are the qualities a buyer needs to focus on so that he's comfortable with the trade-offs, those things that are less than perfect in his mind.

Don't think you are being deceptive by being positive. Anyone buying a home will need a home inspection, just the way people buying boats through me bought a marine survey of the vessel. There are no secrets.

The Takeaway

Staging your home to sell it is the beginning of the selling process. Getting the word out is the next step. Listen to the lessons I learned from my teachers and you'll have better success with advertising your home on the market.

If you are selling your home, whether you have staged it already or not, my eBook, DIY Home Staging Tips to Sell Your Home Fast and For Top Dollar, will teach you new tricks and techniques to make it inviting to buyers.

Michael Page profit warning shows euro zone jobs pain

LONDON (Reuters) - British recruiter Michael Page International issued a profit warning on Monday, blaming a sharp deterioration in euro zone markets as the region's debt crisis increasingly weighs on the real economy.

The warning raises the spectre of further bad news from the 17-country euro area, where unemployment is already running at 11.4 percent of the working population, as staffing firms are viewed by analysts as indicators of future economic trends.

"Everybody expected that EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) would turn down, that's not in dispute. What we're seeing in Michael Page is that it appears to be turning down ahead of everybody else," said Shore Capital analyst David O'Brien.

Smaller rival Robert Walters last week posted a 1 percent rise in third-quarter gross profit.

Michael Page, which makes just under 40 percent of earnings from the EMEA region, said on Monday group gross profit dropped 11 percent year-on-year to 126.5 million pounds ($204.8 million)in the three months ended September.

That included a 16 percent fall in the EMEA region, which excludes Britain, and drops of 22 percent in both Italy and Spain, the biggest countries engulfed in the debt crisis.

The euro zone has endured around three years of financial turmoil, and while markets have recently been reassured by the European Central Bank's pledge to buy government bonds, there are few signs of economic growth picking up.

"You only have to look at the headlines around Europe to see that it's not exactly a happy place," Michael Page Chief Executive Steve Ingham told Reuters, saying a lack of confidence in the region was impacting companies' willingness to invest in new projects such as factories and laboratories.

"I don't panic as a result of us being down by what I regard as a small amount in the quarter," he added.

Michael Page, which makes over 40 percent of its profit from the finance and accounting industries, said it expected full-year operating profit to be slightly below analysts current forecasts, which are pitched around 67.7 million pounds.

At 1035 GMT, the company's shares, which have fallen around 23 percent over the past six months, were down 1.4 percent at 359.9 pence, valuing it at about 1.1 billion pounds.

TEMPORARY TROUBLES?

More than three quarters of Michael Page's profit derives from placing people in permanent jobs, which, compared with the temporary market, is more affected by uncertainty as companies put off making longer term decisions.

Ingham said the group was making gradual headway in the temporary market, but emphasised its rise was a recent, developed-world phenomenon.

"In much of our world there is no such thing as a temporary professional person," he said.

"In China, which is a very big part of our business, and in Brazil and India, we don't do any temps," he added.

The group saw an 11 percent fall in third-quarter profit in Britain, which accounts for almost a quarter of the group total.

Robert Walters posted an 8 percent rise in the same country, largely buoyed by its outsourcing recruitment business, a model that Ingham eschews.

"There are no margins in it," he said. "You have to look at the overall result of those that do it and those that don't and I have to say I think I prefer our margins and our profits."

A survey published on Monday showed temporary job placements in Britain rose at the fastest pace in 14 months in September, after the country's jobless rate dropped in August by the largest amount in two years.

Hays, the largest recruiter listed on Britain's benchmark FTSE-100 index, reports on its third quarter performance on Tuesday.

Canary Wharf to create hub for financial tech start-ups

LONDON (Reuters) - London's Canary Wharf business district, home to global banks HSBC, Barclays and Citigroup, wants to attract entrepreneurs with a new centre for technology start-ups focused on financial services.

Canary Wharf Group, the owner of the estate, said it was dedicating a floor of One Canada Square tower, the district's emblematic skyscraper, to give start-ups space to grow, as well as access to new customers, partners, talent and investment.

The Level39 initiative is being led by Eric Van Der Kleij, who promoted East London as a hub for Internet companies in his former role as head of a technology investment organisation.

He said London was already doing well in attracting start-ups, but more could be done for growing companies wanting high-quality office space.

"Our goal behind Level39 is to create a soft landing for the tech companies and entrepreneurs to really enter Canary Wharf and better connect them with some of the major financial services companies that are the natural inhabitants of this area," he said in an interview.

"For me, Fin-Tech (financial services technologies) should be London's birthright."

Van Der Kleij said Level39, which will open in early 2013, would complement rather than compete with Tech City, the hub that stretches from Old Street to the Olympic Park in East London.

Canary Wharf Group, which is majority owned by Songbird Estates, said earlier this year that it aimed to lure companies from the telecoms, media and technology sector as it looked to diversify its tenant base beyond banks and financial institutions.
